The idea for Taylored Help came about when Debra Taylor, the owner of Taylored Help, decided to leave her career in fabric sales 2009. Because of the fall in the financial market and its direct effect it had on the housing market, the fabric industry took a dive. While being a regional sales person covering three states, who was trying to raise two children at the same time and dealing with the added pressure of sales being so low, Debra came up with the idea for Taylored help.
Using her years of experience in Meeting Planning, Special Events, Design, Sales & Marketing and Real Estate, she formed a company that was service oriented and would bring together all of her career experience. Taylored Help provides a wide range of tailored services for both companies and individuals designed to help them with the extra things that come up where a little help is needed.
Debra has been very fortunate to work with a lot of wonderful companies throughout her career:
AFLAC- as a meeting planner where she planned numerous parties and meetings. Debra worked with AFLAC’s top executives and many other influential people like President Jimmy Carter, Governor George Busbee, John Tess and others.
Fernbank Natural History Museum - where she worked with Atlanta’s largest caterers, special event vendors and companies, planning their events. She also helped plan Fernbank’s many fundraisers throughout the year, such as the Timeless Affair.
Tabletoppers - (a linen rental company)- Debra was the director of sales and marketing for eight years. While at Tabletoppers she worked on many events such as the Super Bowl, The Kentucky Derby, The Piedmont Ball and the Toyota/Lexus car shows. She worked on small events as well as very large events. Debra was an Allie Award winner for her linen design at one of Atlanta’s most prestigious society balls.
JF Fabrics- Debra was a regional Sales Manager who sold fabric to the interior design firms and architectural firms. She worked with some of Atlanta’s best interior designers, where she was exposed to design on a daily basis. By having this experience, Debra learned a lot about the drapery and the upholstery industry.
Home Re-Sale – Over the years, Debra worked with her father, who has been in real estate his entire life, buying small houses that needed to be renovated. The houses would be renovated and then they would resell them. Debra worked with the contractors and oversaw the re-design and construction of each project, making sure everything stayed on time, as well as on budget. |
